You’ll need this if you plan on Mustering, conducting Agricultural work or Surveying just to name a few…
Helicopter regulations state that pilots cannot fly lower than an altitude of 500 feet over an unpopulated area. However, pilots may need to fly below these limits for tasks like mustering, agricultural work and spotting or surveys. Earning a low-level rating allows you to conduct these operations, which is a valuable skill to have on your license.

This skill really enhances safety and operational capabilities in tough areas where regular transportation just won’t cut it. By signing up for this course, pilots will not only pick up a new skill, but they’ll also open up fresh career paths and become part of a respected crew of pros who can handle complex aerial ops.

Red Dog Helicopters conducts flight reviews in accordance with CASR Part 61. Whether you’re operating an R22, R44, or G2, we’ll come to your location and assess your competency based on current operational standards and aircraft type.
License and Medical: Check certification and currency.
Regulatory Compliance: Updating pilots on any changes in aviation laws, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
Skill Assessment: Evaluating the pilot’s handling of the helicopter, including take-offs, landings, emergency procedures, and navigation.
Knowledge Refresh: Covering essential theoretical knowledge, such as aerodynamics, weather conditions, and flight planning, to ensure the pilot’s knowledge is current.
Customised Coaching: Addressing any specific areas where the pilot seeks to improve skills or gain additional confidence.
Required: Every 2 years
